Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 10, 2026

Demolight is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use demo-lights.com, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. We keep this policy plain and direct — no legal jargon.

Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

When you submit an inquiry, create a member account, or place an order through the Demolight website, we collect the information you voluntarily provide — including your name, email address, phone number, company name, shipping address, and any message content you send us.

Information collected automatically

When you visit demo-lights.com, our servers and analytics tools automatically record certain technical data: your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, time spent on each page, and the date and time of your visit. This data is used solely to maintain site security and improve user experience.

Order and transaction data

If you complete a purchase, we collect order details including product selections, quantities, pricing, and payment confirmation references. Full payment card details are processed exclusively by our payment processor (Stripe) and are never stored on Demolight servers.

How We Use Your Information

Fulfilling your requests

We use your contact and order information to respond to inquiries, process and ship orders, send order confirmations and shipping updates, and provide customer support.

Improving our service

Aggregated, anonymised usage data helps us understand how visitors interact with our site so we can improve navigation, product listings, and overall performance. No individual is identified in this analysis.

Communications

With your consent, we may send you product updates, promotional offers, or industry news relevant to LED lighting. You may opt out of marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us directly.

Legal and security obligations

We may process your data to comply with applicable laws, prevent fraud, enforce our terms of trade, or respond to lawful requests from public authorities.

Cookies & Tracking

What cookies we use

Demolight uses essential cookies required for the site to function (session management, cart state, authentication tokens) and optional analytics cookies that help us measure traffic and page performance. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Your cookie choices

Essential cookies cannot be disabled as they are necessary for the site to operate. You may disable optional analytics cookies through your browser settings or by declining non-essential cookies when prompted. Disabling analytics cookies does not affect your ability to browse or purchase.

Third-party cookies

Our payment processor Stripe may set cookies on checkout pages to detect fraud and ensure secure transactions. These cookies are governed by Stripe's own privacy policy and are outside Demolight's control.

We Do Not Sell Your Data

No sale, no rent, no trade

Demolight does not sell, rent, lease, or trade your personal information to any third party for their own marketing or commercial purposes — ever. Your data is used only to serve you as a Demolight customer.

Limited sharing with service providers

We share data only with trusted service providers who help us operate the website and fulfil orders — including our payment processor (Stripe), logistics partners, and hosting infrastructure. These providers are contractually bound to use your data only for the specific services they provide to us and may not use it for any other purpose.

Data Security & Retention

How we protect your data

All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using TLS (HTTPS). Sensitive credentials are hashed and salted. Access to customer data is restricted to authorised personnel on a need-to-know basis, and our systems are regularly reviewed for security vulnerabilities.

How long we keep your data

We retain order and account data for as long as your account is active and for up to seven years thereafter to comply with tax and trade record-keeping obligations. Inquiry and contact form data is retained for up to two years. You may request earlier deletion at any time (see Your Rights below).

Your Rights

Access and portability

You have the right to request a copy of the personal data Demolight holds about you, in a commonly used, machine-readable format.

Correction

If any information we hold about you is inaccurate or incomplete, you have the right to request that we correct it.

Erasure (right to be forgotten)

You may request that we delete your personal data. We will comply unless we are required to retain it by law (e.g. financial records) or to fulfil an outstanding order.

Objection and restriction

You may object to or request that we restrict the processing of your data in certain circumstances, including where you dispute its accuracy or where processing is based on our legitimate interests.

Withdraw consent

Where processing is based on your consent (e.g. marketing emails), you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

Contact & Updates

How to exercise your rights

To make any privacy request, or if you have questions about this policy, please email us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days. For account-related requests, please include your registered email address so we can verify your identity.

Policy updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Demolight website after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
